SALT LAKE CITY – President Thomas S. Monson is named in an annual Gallup poll as one of Americans’ 10 “Most Admired Men”.
Others on the list include Bill Gates, Pope Benedict XVI, Donald Trump, Newt Gingrich, Warren Buffett, the Rev. Billy Graham, fomer U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, and U.S. President Barack Obama.
The results from the list are based on a December 15-18 USA Today/Gallup poll, asking Americans to name someone, without any prompting, they admire most living anywhere in the world.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tops the list of “Most Admired Women, 2011″, and has made the list for 10 years straight.
According to Gallup managing editor Jeffrey Jones, names on the “Most Admired” survey usually come from the worlds of humanitarian efforts, entertainment, business, religion or government.
“Buffett and Monson have been mentioned in recent years but never made the top 10 until now,” wrote Jones in the article about the poll on Gallup.com.
